Tucson, Ariz. – Local radio stations 94.9 MIXfm and Mega 106.3/104.9 are holding the Women’s Spa and Wellness Showcase on Saturday, October 3 at The Courtyard of La Encantada. The bi-annual event, focused on bringing attention to women’s total wellbeing, is free and open to the public. It also will feature cooking demonstrations, doggie fashion shows and prize giveaways. This event is in conjunction with American Cancer Society, shining light on breast cancer awareness in the month of October.
“We wanted women to see that taking care of themselves is important on so many different levels, especially in this current economy” said Darla Thomas, operations manager for Journal Broadcast Group – Tucson Operations. “We developed an event for women that specializes in what women are interested in: fitness, education, nutrition, skin care, beauty and fashion.”
Thomas continued, “It was also key for us to have community partners who understood the importance of the American Cancer Society and their need to bring awareness of early breast cancer detection.”
The Women’s Spa and Wellness Showcase is presented by Maloney Plastic Surgery.
